State of Emergency: Mass Meeting Recap

We called a mass meeting on November 11 — and you showed up in a big way. For those who missed it, here’s what you need to know:

  • We gave a presentation called State of Emergency. In this presentation, we discussed 1) who was elected, 2) what to expect in terms of anti-trans legislation, and 3) our action plan. We also presented an updated version of the Ending the Undemocratic Assault on Trans Rights that was initially given on October 8th. You can find this presentation through this link.
  • The second session in this mass meeting were breakout sessions where we all worked together to discuss our feelings and thoughts and channel them into productive actions. We compiled the ideas from this discussion into a community document that can be found here.
  • Both of those links and more information about our Stop Our Senators campaign can be found through our SOS Tool Kit here or through the Political Center on our website.
  • We announced the We’re Still Here: Rally for Trans Rights event that will take place in Watson Park in Lawrence. It is tentatively scheduled for 3 PM on January 11, 2025, although the time is subject to change. Stay tuned for more information!
  • You can view a re-recording of this presentation on YouTube.

If you would like to get involved, join our Discord server or reach out! We will be providing volunteer updates soon.
