KANSAS SENATORS ARE ABOUT TO BAN CHOSEN NAMES AND PRONOUNS IN SCHOOLS AND COLLEGES.

STOP SB 76!

WHAT DOES SB 76 DO?

If SB 76 became law, it would:

  • Ban employees in schools and colleges from using a trans student’s chosen name or pronouns without parental permission
  • Protect employees and students from disciplinary or legal action for intentionally deadnaming or misgendering a trans student
  • Allow parents to sue schools and colleges for using a trans student’s chosen name or pronouns without their permission

SB 76 may NOT just apply to minors — it explicitly specifies that “minors and students” in any school or postsecondary educational institution are subject to this.

It also applies to EVERY SINGLE EMPLOYEE of a school or college — not just teachers. Even janitors would have to adhere to this.
