Trans Lawrence Coalition is proud to announce the Mutual Aid Fund for trans and gender nonconforming Lawrence residents. If you or someone you know could benefit from up to $100 in funding, please fill out our request form. Requests are reviewed the 2nd and 4th Mondays of the month. Requestors will also be asked to schedule a 30 minute window to speak on the phone with a member of the Trans Lawrence Coalition Chairs to confirm their submission request. If you are unable to have a phone call for any reason, we can schedule a time to meet in-person.
None of it would be possible without the amazing community in Lawrence. We wanted to give some huge shout outs to organizations that have helped us along the way. Thank you to The Trans Commons, The Raven, The Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Lawrence, and the Trans Justice Funding Project. Without their donations this year, we would not be able to help redistribute financial resources like this to the community.
Thank you to businesses and organizations who have helped collaborate on events or given us space, resources, or time such as The ECM, The Last Carnival, Lucia, Wonderfair, PFLAG, Rainbow Kids and Families, Dragon’s Hoard, First Step Fitness, and more. Without support when we were starting out, we wouldn’t be where we are today.
And a big thank you to every individual who has attended our events, our business meetings, provided feedback, shared our posts, or donated. We intentionally call ourselves a coalition because we aren’t just made of a few individuals, we are built because of everyone’s work together. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for working with us as we fight to make Lawrence (and hopefully the broader state of Kansas) a safer place for trans folks to live and thrive.
